Tucked away beach with expansive wildlife and stunning views

Far from where the tourists venture, this is an incredible hang out and camping spot in Juneau. The trailhead is at the 25 mile marker on Glacier Hwy. There are a couple of roads when you exit the highway, but stick to the right and you will end up in an obvious parking lot. From here, there is only one trailhead. It is a flat, mile and a half walk through some wet forests to the beach.

There you will find incredible views of both the Chilkat and Coastal ranges. With a huge tidal change, the leftover sea creatures serve as a great food source for a large variety of wildlife, especially bald eagles. Seals, sea lions, and whales can be seen as well, especially when the salmon are running.

Be aware of the tide charts before you head out, as high tide can cover the entire beach at times.
