This hike was a personal favorite when I lived and worked in Denali. It offers great views of the Toklat Valley and views of Denali from the summit.

From the Toklat Contact Station look due west and that is the mountain you are about to climb. Directly across the from the tent there is a drainage. Walk up the drainage hugging the right side until you are above the treeline (about 300-400ft). Once you are above the trees climb out of the drainage into the tundra and follow the ridgeline all the way to the top. The views are great along the way and only get better as you make your way to the top. Be sure to keep an eye out for all sheep and foraging grizzly bears.

Once you are at the top there is plenty of room to explore as you walk the ridges. Once you are ready to head back there are multiple ways down. If you are looking to head back to where you started, the easiest way down is to retrace your steps.
