"Life is a journey, enjoy the ride"

Stayed 3 nights with a tent at the end of April. As the heat came to LA here you can still find chilling nights and evenings. At sunset we just dropped everything and froze watching - spectacular! On the weekend campground was full, but other days quiet and calm. Water was working every day whereas visitor center only sat-sun:) And the most wonderful thing - NO CELL SERVICE 20 miles around. Enjoy!

Even at the end of March closer to noon here is quite hot. Especially in the middle of the path, where the sand is trampled and soft and the wind is absent in the lowland. Don't be upset if you see plenty of parked cars and people on the summit. The wind will do its job and for the hour that you get to the top many footprints on the dune's ridge will disappear. The road is flat till the very parking. They have a restroom there but without water.

Made this hike at the end of March in the middle of the week. Still cool when it's windy especially in the first half of the day, but the sun is already heating. Use warm clothes or wind-stopper. Met just maybe 7 people on the trail. This year Bear mountain still has a lot of snow, so you can watch beautiful white caps on the opposite site of the lake sitting on a bench or fallen tree at the end of the trail.
