Washington, I'm Impressed: A Day at Snoqualmie Falls
Good friends, good food, and a gorgeous waterfall
Moving up here from California was a bit of a change (um, hello, WATER). Once I got settled in around UW and got to know the city better, I've started looking outward. The Olympic Peninsula, The Northern Cascades, British Columbia, Victoria Island, I get so excited thinking about the next 4 years here and there are so many places to go.
This was a sweet day. Woke up and stopped by Top Pot before heading off to Snoqualmie Falls. Once there, we walked around taking photos here and there and just taking in the amazing scenery in front of us. Now that I think of it, I'm surprised how close this is to downtown Seattle. We decided we were hungry so we found a local coffee shop Sno Valley Coffee to just grab a quick drink. Across the street, my friend Boogie and I noticed a small Italian restaurant called Uncle Si's with a sign that said "Damn good wings", so we decided we needed to eat there (spoiler we didn't get wings). The service was incredible and the food was amazing (highly recommend the pesto calzone)
On the drive back, we put on One Direction and Taylor Swift for throwback's sake and gaped at the way clouds rolled through the mountain tops as we headed back into the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Finished the day off with some sushi in Ballard while watching the Huskies dominate the Ducks (Go Dawgs!)
I'm incredibly blessed by my two friends Em and Boogie who accompany me on these adventures and deal with my need to do whatever it takes to get some photos. So stoked I get to spend the next four years and possibly more with them in this incredible state.
