This 15 mile round trip bike ride takes you from the urban setting of downtown Little Rock, through a scenic riverside trail in North Little Rock, and over the longest pedestrian/cycling bridge in the Unites States before heading back down towards the River Market District.
To start this bike ride, we parked in the Clinton Presidential Library parking lot just east of downtown. Head north over the Arkansas River on the Clinton Bridge and continue to follow the Arkansas River Trail signs on the north side of the river through North Little Rock. Be aware that as of October 2016 there is a heavy amount of construction with minor trail outages, but there is detour signage so be on the look out for those along the trail.
The north side trail weaves in and out through heavily wooded areas and has many rest opportunities to sit and enjoy views of the river. You will also pass through multiple riverside parks, a golf course, and a large campground in Burns Park. Around the 7 mile marker you will begin to see the Big Dam Bridge approaching. At the north side base of the Big Dam Bridge there is a nice shaded rest area with a bike repair rack and air pump.
After crossing over the bridge you will begin making your way back towards the River Market Distrct and downtown Little Rock. The last mile of the ride takes you through the River Market Ditrict where you will find many restaurants and bars to grab a drink after a long successful ride.
