Amazing views. Challenging but rewarding climb. Plenty of wildlife. Rest under a sea of stars. 3km roundtrip. Elevation gain: 364m.

Starting from the Glass House Mountains Tourist Drive, follow the signs to the Mt Tibrogargan picnic area. Upon arrival at the carpark, make sure you have all your gear and any food and water you will need as the climb and descent takes a minimum of 2 hours.

Caution, this climb is a minimum of a 50 degree slope and at times you are needed to free climb the rock face in order to reach the summit. We did this climb at night as i wanted to shoot the stars. It's a lot easier to do during the day.

The rock face becomes very slippery when wet. The mountain itself is only 364m high. After scrambling up the steep slope you are rewarded with the most amazing 360 degree views from the endless valleys to the west and the vast ocean to the east. Take this opportunity to get some amazing photos, if you are lucky you may even see an eagle hunting and using the updrafts of wind around the mountain. Be careful on your way down as one slip could be disastrous, allow at least 10-20 minutes longer for your descent.
