This is definitely a great hike, but difficult! The views are equal to, if not better than, McAfee Knob (in my opinion), with far less people on the trail. There are many outcrops with views along Tinker Mountain, you can spread out and not have to worry about being in anybody's way or taking up too much space. All in all its a must-do hike, just be prepared for the steep elevation gain.

This short hike packs great views without the crowds that the nearby Channels ( https://www.theoutbound.com/virginia/fitness/hike-the-great-channels) or Mount Rogers (https://www.theoutbound.com/virginia/hiking/hike-mount-rogers) draw and is great any time of year. Take some time to enjoy the parks' other trails or camp for a night at this beautiful state park.

To get to this waterfall isn't really a "hike" since it's about 100 feet off the Blue Ridge Parkway. There's not enough water to swim here, since the waterfall is usually a trickle in the summer. Wigwam Falls is still a great place to explore. Be to sure to walk a little bit on the old railroad, which is especially beautiful in the fall after some leaves have fallen on the ground.

Though this hike is short in distance, it is quite difficult due to all the rock scrambling. As the post says, it's not recommended for dogs because of the scrambling. The trail is full of wildflowers in spring, but the view is great any time of the year. It is also a lot less crowded than the nearby McAfee Knob.

McAfee Knob has one of the best views in Virginia, but be prepared for the crowds. Sometimes the parking lot fills up so be sure to get there early. Both sunrises and sunsets are great from atop the Knob.
