Dive The Indians

indian rocks, Tortola British virgin islands, British Virgin Islands

Description

Added by Ian Riley

This is an awesome place to dive/snorkel that is a little farther out then most spots in the British Virgin Islands.

The Indians are four huge rocks that tower out of the water by about 50 or 60 feet. You'll find both hard and soft coral here with a big variety of different fish. There is an underwater cave that a lot of people like to swim into. The Indians have a lot of photo opportunities so make sure to bring your camera. This spot is only accessible by water, so whether you take your dingy or are more adventure ours and decide to kayak you'll need to tie off to the mooring balls. There aren't a big number of mooring balls so you might be out luck during busy season, but most of the time it wont be a problem.

If you're looking into a trip to the islands and want a boat because this spot and every other island are only accessible by boat I would recommend you look into MarineMax Vacations. They have a great selection of trips and boat sizes. If you work with MarineMax vacations they partner with Sail Caribbean divers and through them you have the option to rent kayaks and paddle boards along with dive gear. Its a very easy way to get all your stuff though one company and it will be waiting on the boat when you get there. I recommend this company and have used them before, its a great way to see the islands and great spots like this.

If renting a boat isn't your thing and you stay on land there  are also water taxis so you can still get out on the water. Almost any water taxi will take you here but i recommend dolphin shuttle, they again are good company I have used and liked.
