Camp at Wright's Beach in Sonoma Coast State Park
Bodega Bay, California
Description

Amazing sunset, long stretch of beach, great views from the cliffs above.
This is your standard State Park campground. Bathrooms. Lots of sites close together. I would assume its usually a campground booked solid for months in advance. I was able to get lucky and get a beachside tent spot (reserved online) before I went. Nearly every other site was a camper trailer. Each site is close together, but feels secluded because of the heavy foliage between them.
Walkable by the beach is Duncan's Point to the south. Very cool rock formations in the water. From the road above, there is a fantastic overlook. I would suggest getting up early and watching the sun come up. You can walk from the campground to Duncan's Point on the road, it's only a mile. Spectacular views.
I would camp here again, but only at one of the farthest tent-only sites, facing the beachside. I would assume you can camp here year-round and the weather is great. I was here in mid-Feb.
