Description

Slide down smooth, slippery rocks into deep warm pools of water. Or take the plunge and jump off the 15+ rock.

Hidden in the woods, Potholes swimming hole is an untouched nirvana! It's a must-see stop if you are in the Shaver Lake or Huntington Lake area. A secret spot that me and my friends come back to time after time. The rocks are smoothed by the water and create a fantastic time of play and slip n' sliding! It's like nature's waterpark. The water is warm and deep so it's ideal for a cliff jump or two off the rocks as well.

How to Get There: From Shaver Lake Marian, take an immediate left and head to Camp Sierra. 52050 Huntington Lake Rd, Big Creek, CA 93605. Once you arrive at Camp Sierra and park in the lot, find the trail near the cabins and follow it for just over 1 mile to arrive at Potholes. There will be a trailhead sign upon arrival. Just ask around at the front desk at Camp Sierra if you are having trouble.

Pro Tip: I recommend bringing an old pair of jeans to wear on the outside of your suit if you are a serious slider.

Please remember to Leave No Trace and pack out what you brought in.
