This beautiful small beach is perfect for a relaxing stroll or sunset picnic.

Wilson Beach in False Klamath Cove is a small but scenic spot in Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. Surrounded by thick forest, the dark gray sandy beach is scattered with driftwood, interesting rocks formations, and tide pools. The small free parking area has picnic tables and is a popular spot for fishing. Dogs are allowed on the beach on leash. South of Wilson Beach, a small .5 mile trail leads to Hidden Beach with sea stacks and tide pools.

Relax at False Klamath Cove Reviews

Stopped at this little beach on our way through Redwoods. The sand is interestingly black, and—at least when we went—there weren't many people. If I lived closer I honestly might just go here instead of to the regular beach! Definitely a fun stop during a Redwoods trip, tho.

Great picnic spot. Can spot sea lions gathering for a picnic of fish too
