The trail's midpoint is the Griffith Observatory, a popular destination for its panoramic views of Los Angeles and its space-related exhibits. The observatory is also the highest point of the trail, making the second half of the hike a downhill walk. Ferndell to the West Observatory Loop Trail to Griffith Observatory Reviews

Nice easy hike with great views. Go early so you can park at the bottom. It could get pretty hot up top, so make sure to bring a hat, wear sunscreen and bring lots of water. Not much tree coverage towards the top. Can get pretty busy during the weekends.

Relatively easy hike. Nice incline, with good city views and the observatory at the top. Trail is well kept, but a bit dusty, and without much shade in the upper portions
