The Wawona Swinging Bridge Trail is a quick and scenic trail in Wawona, CA. The beginning of the trail is clearly marked and easy to get started on.

The hike to the Wawona Swinging Bridge is a 0.7 mile dirt path. Start at the trailhead located next to the parking lot. The hike is surrounded by many trees which offers a lot of shade. For the first couple of minutes the trail is fairly straight. You then begin to hike down for just a minute or two until you're parallel to the river. After about 15-20 minutes of slight elevation gain you are met with this fun little swinging bridge!

Once arrived at the bridge there are plenty of options depending on the weather. Make sure to walk across the bridge! That's why you came right!? It may swing and sway but don't be scared because this bridge is very sturdy! My group of 15 all fit on this bridge. There are so many photo opportunities so make sure to snap lots of photos! If it's nice and sunny, just below the bridge you will find natural pools and slides to cool off. You can make this hike a loop by crossing the bridge and hiking back to your car from the other side.
