Description

Head out on this 2.2-km loop trail near Bulkley-Nechako E, British Columbia. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 30 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, camping, and fishing, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

From Fraser Lake, it is accessible by a well-constructed forest access road which starts at LeJac, 6 km east of Fraser Lake – and goes south. This road is known as the Holy Cross #1 Road (Directly across from the West Fraser Sawmill turn-off) with Cheslatta Falls at 60 km.

From Vanderhoof, travel down Kenney Dam Road, cross the Dam, and turn right onto the Holy Cross Forest Service Road (approx 97 km). Go another 11 km and follow the signs to the Falls. Approximately 108 km from the Visitor Centre.ORFrom the Vanderhoof Visitor Centre drive approx. 50 km west on Hwy 16. Turn left onto the Holy Cross Forest Service Road.; Continue approx. 55 km to Falls.Next to marker 159 on Holy Cross Forest Service Road.(CAUTION: During summer, fall, & winter, watch for loaded logging trucks on the Holy Cross Forest Service Road.)

Cheslatta Falls trailhead is just before the bridge, on the right side. Coordinates: N 53⁰38.536’ W 124⁰57.123. Elevation: 764 meters. The sign has nothing to do with the trail - it actually warns not to park or walk on the bridge, as you cannot hear approaching traffic.
