Description

A side-trail leads to the bottom of a magnificent two-layer waterfall that, during winter, freezes perfectly along with the river that it flows into.

We parked on Lions Club Road right at the end of Old Dundas Road. The walk to the Bruce Trail is not that long, just a hike up the creek and voila!

Visiting Sherman Falls is so much more rewarding in the winter season. You can get up close and personal with the waterfall because you can stand on inch-thick ice that will hold you up for as long as you can stand in the freezing temperature. I say this because this spot is open all-year round but most especially, during the winter, a group of locals from Hamilton, Ontario set up event nights where they light up the waterfalls from all around Hamilton to entice visitors from all over to see the natural wonders their city has to offer.
