Description

Added by Jill Collins

Distance: 2 km (1.2 miles) roundtrip. Elevation gain: 40 m (131 ft). Easy, secluded stop along the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5). Hike/trail run in the summer. Snowshoe in the winter. Pristine lake to swim in. Great views for a picnic. Wildlife and wildflowers plentiful. Back country camping permitted at the lake.

Usually the Coquihalla is a means of a way to get from Point A to Point B, but why drive past all that rugged B.C. beauty? Skip the usual travel rest stops and have a micro adventure while passing through the transition zone between B.C.'s coastal and interior landscapes.

The trailhead is 1km (0.6 miles) off of the Coquihalla Highway and located within the Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area. The trail itself is a well used dirt path with stairs and boardwalk bridges. The trail distance is approximately 1km, and the elevation gain is very minimal, 40m (131 ft), so taking the opportunity to really stretch out those legs and run is the perfect way to get rid of those tired travel leg feelings.

Hike & Swim at Falls Lake, BC Reviews

Easy, shaded and a few roots across here and there. 2 tent pads at the end which were full when we arrived. Lovely lake which took less than 15 mins to walk to
