Feel small in the land of rock giants by hiking the Cory Pass trail through to Edith Pass.

Going west from Banff, take the first exit for Highway 1A (Bow Valley Parkway). Take the first right up to the fireside picnic area and begin your hike here.

The first 5kms of the hike climb uphill through the forest, making up most of the 915m elevation gain. Watch for trail markers over the rocky knoll at the top of most of the elevation. Once you pass this point it is fairly flat until the top. Pass over the ridge and head down into Edith Pass for some beauty views of the surrounding mountains. Finish the last few kms of the loop through Edith Meadows which will take you back to the parking lot.

Hike the Cory & Edith Pass Trail Reviews

Well i didn’t think I would do the whole hike but I did and it was worth it. The whole hike took about 7 hours but I was definitely taking my time. The first part was pretty steep! But in general the trail is in good condition. The views were great!! Wear bug spray!

This trail is insanely beautiful. The initial ascent was rough but not as bad as I thought it would be. The trail took us about 8 hours, but so worth it.
