Description

Added by Shayne River

Distance: 5.5 km (3.4 miles) roundtrip. Elevation gain: 100 m (330 ft). Beautiful views. Ocean swimming. Island exploration. Beach day trip.

From the parking lot at Belcarra Regional Park, follow the Jug Island Trail. It is well marked and well walked so it's near impossible to wander off in the wrong direction! The beach near Jug Island is at the very tip of the peninsula and offers beautiful views of the Indian Arm and surrounding mountains. You can swim over to Jug Island to explore, or hang out on the mainland beach beach and take in the sights. This trip is not a loop, so come home the same way you arrived.

Hike the Jug Island Trail Reviews

It was a bit easier than i had thought, so if you're looking for a nice, quick, casual hike, this is a good one! I did it on a March Monday morning, and I encountered 2 other people the entire time.

Pretty rewarding view for how easy of a hike it is. Went with a couple friends, easy and straight forward there and back.

If you plan on going in the water make sure you bring your water shoes as the beach has lots of broken shells and barnacles on it.

Easy path to brilliant vista of jug island and the Indian Arm, wish we had taken swimming stuff... the beach is full of barnacles so water shoes might be needed.
