Moose Lake is an easy hike for anyone of any age. It winds through the thick lodge pole pine tree forest and leads you through extensively beautiful scenery, to a beautiful lake, where a few moose commonly inhabit.

Hike a beautiful, and very well used trail to the gorgeous Moose Lake, where Moose visit quite a bit, hence the name 'Moose Lake.' (Biking the Loop is not allowed.) The trail itself is about a 2.7 kilometer loop, and is accessed through driving to Maligne lake. To access the trail head, "pass by the first turnoff to the lake, go past the buildings, cross the Maligne River, go to the end of pavement and turn left into the large parking lot." Continue down the Bald Hills Trail for 200 meters then branch left onto the Maligne Pass Trail on wards to Moose Lake.

Directions to Maligne Lake: "From Highway 16, turn onto the Maligne Road 1.9 km east of Jasper. The lake is at road's end, 47 km from town."

On the way to the stunning Maligne Lake, you can stop at one of Alberta's most astonishing canyons, Maligne Canyon. You can also make a stop at Medicine Lake, another extraordinarily beautiful lake. There are several viewpoints and picnic areas along the way. Visit (https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/...) for more information on directions to get to Maligne lake, and the Moose Lake Trail head.

*Remember to watch your fuel, and fill up if need be before heading to Maligne Lake. As there are no gas stations on the way.*

Hike the Moose Lake Loop Reviews

The bugs were horrible but this short hike was nice and easy. The lake itself is beautiful and clear. No moose to be seen though.
