A stunning waterfall in the midst of a forested area.
Babcock Falls is a 1-2 hour, 2.5 km hike to a beautiful waterfall and pool. When you arrive at the falls you get to see the falls in action from the top of a hill, but if you are able, you can climb down a steep hillside to get to the base of the pool/falls. The hillside has some ropes to hold on to, so even though it is steep, it is unlikely you'll fall if you take it slow. The hike is an easy, flat terrain; though the trails can be quite wet in the summer in some parts due to the rain and some run-off. Arriving at the base of the falls, you can swim if you aren't afraid of the cold water. In the winter, Babcock Falls is an attractive place to cross country ski, snowshoe, or climb ice. This is a great, easy, short hike, and pets and children will most likely be able to make this hike given they're hiked before in the past. This is a great spot to take photos, have lunch, and enjoy your afternoon.
There is no or very little cell service in this area, so please be aware of that. Bringing bug spray and bear spray is recommended.
Visit (http://tumblerridgegeopark.ca/...) and (https://docs.google.com/viewer...) for more information and directions. Please be careful when driving as the roads are gravel and have lots of potholes and steep hills that could damage your car. There are some other great hikes in this area as well such as Shipwreck, Titanic, and Boulder Gardens.
