Incredible day hike to the very unique "Hole in The Wall". Its a beautiful place set on a river with many hiking trails in the area.
The Hole in The Wall is located just outside the city of Port Alberni, British Columbia. The day hike is easy enough to bring kids on the adventure, is dog friendly and offers a beautiful view of some of Port Alberni's history. Previous to the 1960's, the Hole In The Wall was the opening for a pipeline that provided the town with fresh water. After the pipeline was updated, the water eroded away the wood and the "Hole In The Wall" was created.
The short walk only takes 15 minutes from the parking lot and the trail is well marked. From the Alberni Highway, park either at Coombs Country Candy store or on the side of the highway (going towards parksville).
Important: The trail head is located on the right side of the highway (if your back is facing towards the city of Port Alberni). There is another trail to the left of the highway and it does not lead to the attraction.
Also, the candy store is incredible and is worth a visit!

Hike to Hole in the Wall Reviews
Short and pretty easy hike. Nothing exciting but the geology around the “hole” is super exposed and interesting! Nice for a picnic with family.
