Easy hike with nice views and beautiful waterfall! Good for families or people who aren't used to hard hikes!
Starting at the Rockbound Lake trailhead you will want to follow the flat dirt path straight, until you see the junction in the road with the sign pointing you to Silverton Falls (it will be about 500 steps or a quarter of a mile). We made the mistake of taking the first junction which lead us to the campground. If you end up at a bridge over the river, you've gone the wrong way. Once you make it to the junction, follow the sign to the path of Silverton Falls, which will lead you to the right. You will follow the river almost all the way until the switchbacks start, where there will be a wooden fence pointing you to the start of the switchbacks to your left. Here is where you get all of the elevation gain, you will go up 2-3 switchbacks, which at some point get pretty narrow (but widen out after), and finally turn the corner to see the falls. To your left is the falls and to your right is a beautiful view of snow capped peaks (end of June). From where the trail ends, you can scamper down a 7ft rock, that will get you a bit closer to the falls, you can go even lower, but I wouldn't suggest it because it is slippery and steep. After you are done taking pictures and maybe eating a small snack, you head back the same way you came. This trail is dog friendly, easy for the out of shape visitors, or people not used to the mountains, there is a small (gross) outhouse, but it's a bathroom none the less. We went on Canada Day, and this trail was empty, a nice break from all of the packed trails, we were the only people the entire way!
