Description

Where else but the Lone Shieling Trail can you see 350 year old sugar maple trees! This area has is one of the largest old growth hardwood forests in the Maritimes. One of the most protected areas of the park, access is restricted to this short loop trail. You can find a replica of a Scottish crofter's hut at the beginning of the trail. It’s like stepping back in time and walking through a fairy forest!

Lone Shieling Trail Reviews

One of the more shorter trails on our trip, but one of the coolest by far! The interpretive signs were great and explaining the different trees that were there. Where else can you go to see trees that are over 300 years old!?! if you blink, you might miss it, so make sure to keep your eye out for the sign to the trail and location.
