Kayak Onaman River to Lake Nipigon

Thunder Bay, Unorganized, Ontario

Description

Added by Tammy Molepske

Vast lake, the largest in Ontario, which offers seclusion, massive lake trout, and beautiful islands to explore

Starting at the Onaman River Resort, you can boat down river to the Northern inlet and drop kayaks to explore the many islands. You're also able to drive Ombabika Bay Road and put in at the bay. This like is absolutely secluded and produces the most beautiful lake trout and walleyes. I also spotted a snowy owl perched on the rocky shore and many moose. Pick any spot and set up camp on the islands, but good luck getting any sleep through the howls of the local wolf pack!
