Cross-Country skiing or snowshoeing to the HI-Mount Cavell Hostel in Jasper National Park is a great overnight adventure. Make sure you have all the necessary equipment, skill, and knowledge for this challenging yet very rewarding adventure.

The trek is 11.6km one way to HI-Mount Cavell Hostel and can be done on classic or skate skis. Be ready for a workout as this breathtaking ski (in more ways than one) has an elevation gain of 1,000ft. Make sure you've done your homework on current avalanche conditions and have the proper gear packed with you (shovel, beacon, food, etc.).

Getting There:
HI-Mount Edith Cavell is located approximately 23 km south of the town of Jasper. From Jasper, take Hwy 93 South for 7km. Turn right and take the Hwy 93A exit. Follow this road for 5.4 km and turn right onto Cavell Road. From here you can put skis on and begin you ascent.
