Description

Added by Tyson Jerry

This hike takes about 5 hours total and you'll get to some incredible views.

This trip is best done in a 3-5 hour window. The trail meanders up past several peaks until you reach the summit and a panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains.

Start at the Mount Seymour Parking Lot, walk uphill and follow the trail to the left of the ski hill until you get to the the trail that heads northbound along the ski run.

The trail gains altitude quickly. Stay right at the first intersection and right again at the second. You'll get to a wide ski run and after a few hundred meters another sign will appear pointing toward Mt. Seymour. Take the path down the hill left and continue following the signs for the mountain. Keep an eye behind you since the views from these points are stunning, especially of the city.

The last intersection marks Elsay Lake and Mt. Seymour. Follow the signs accordingly and up the steep hill to the peak.

Snowshoe Mt. Seymour Reviews

Jan 1, 2015 - hiked this New Year's Day almost a year ago. It was spectacular! A bit of work as there is some incline, but totally worth it and really not very long. I would say it's a step up from dog mountain? Awesome views and great place to explore!

My two girlfriends and I decided to try our hand at some snowshoeing. I hadn't done it in years-the maps were clear as were the trails; we went out under moonlight and found a large patch of beautiful sparkling untouched snow surrounded by trees and ran around like school kids. A night I'll never forget!
