Description

Scenic turquoise coloured lake. Short hike, 1.5km loop. Cliff jumping. Swimming hole close to town.

Best explored on a sunny summer day, this horseshoe shaped lake has crystal clear water that is green turquoise in colour and is surrounded by cliffs. This is a very popular cliff jumping location with the highest jump point said to be at 80 feet. An easy 1.5 km trail brings you from one side of the cliffs to the other, with several scenic viewpoints of the lake and mountains. This lake is an excellent spot to spend a hot summer day.

Great place to wake up for the day, very cold water but spectacular views!

Went here in July and basically spent half a day swimming in the cold as heck lake, and then lounging/napping in hammocks. Definitely a beauty spot, with easy access. Highly recommend!

Sooo cold but oh so much fun! My husband and I both said, our impromptu trip here was one of the best activities we did on our 9 day trip! We were a little too nervous to jump from the highest peak since we could not see what was beneath the water, however some locals came along as we were packing up and we got to watch them take the plunge. From the sounds of it, the highest jump hurts the bum a bit!

I've been coming here for years. If you can catch it on a warm day, it's a fun and refreshing way to spend the day. There's some of the best cliff diving in Canada here, with heights for everyone, beginner to pro! It's about 20 minutes outside of the town of Jasper, so if you have any time to spare while in the park, definitely come and check it out!

We spent an afternoon cliff jumping and swimming at Horseshoe Lake. Because it's a little hard to find (and has a tiny parking lot), this lake is usually pretty empty. If you're in Jasper on a sunny day, do yourself a favor and head over here.
