Bike to the Valle de Cocora

Yes, you are right. There are jeeps leaving the city center of Salento to bring you to Valle de Cocora, but it is a very beautiful ride if you decide to take it slow and bike there instead. You will have beautiful views of The Valley with their unique palm trees and will be able to stop at places that the jeeps can't let you taketview all in.

There is just one road, you can't really get lost. The track starts to go downhill as you get out of Salento, then you hit the flat beforehand it is a steep incline for the latter part of the track. 

He road is paved all the way through, but I'd suggest not to do this trip during the weekend as it is getting crowded and you share the road with the cars.

I strongly suggest to stay overnight and amlso to the hiking loop in The Valley the next day (see https://www.theoutbound.com/co...) Right as you enter The Valley there are two camping spots for 10.000 and 15.000 COP per night
