"Biking in Medellin?" You must think. And you are not completely wrong, it is not the safest activity, but with proper planning this is a great way to discover the city

Medellin is developing more and more infrastructure that make it safe to bike around the city, it is a great way to discover the different neighborhoods. On your way you should definitely make the short climb up Cerro Nutibara.

There are two different entrances to the hill, personally I prefer the road entering from Calle 30A. It is a quick 5min incline to the top of the hill and you will be greeted with a kitschy rebuilt of a typical town square. But what you really come here for is the 360 degrees view of the city.

Bring a couple of pesos for the typical selection of refreshments on top before you head back down. Afterwards I highly recommend to stay on the bike route and let it bring yo right into the heart of the Laureles district of the city. Plenty of great coffee and food options should fill your energy tank if you ever get tired.

Keep in mind that every Sunday there is a Ciclovia event where the roads ar closed down which makes this excursion even safer.
