Boulder, Colorado
Description
Added by Alaina Donovan
A short 15-minute drive from Downtown Boulder, Betasso Preserve provides mountain bikers and hikers both beautiful city and mountain views.
Betasso Preserve, boasting 1,151 acres of plant communities, provides habitats a rich diversity of wildlife. From the trails, you can spot Boulder as well as the westward mountain peaks of the Rockies. Several picnic tables and parking spots near the trailhead.
The preserve has a trail for every skill level but here are personal recommendations:
Advanced Mountain Bikers and Hikers: Betasso Link - steep, difficult terrain. Jumps and established trails through forested hills, with plenty of tight turns and speedy downhill section
Scenic Hikers and Beginner Mountain Bikers: Canyon Loop Trail - 3.3 miles with slight altitude elevation gain. Easy loop.
Bikes are not allowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
