Great afternoon hike for someone looking to put a few miles on after a day in the office, or for someone/family looking for a great hike only a few miles from the city. Dog friendly with a well maintained trail and bathrooms at the parking lot which has a decent amount of spots.
Starting at roughly 6,000 ft. this hike will take you to the Mount Galbraith Loop Trail that circles the summit of the Mountain which peaks at 7,247 ft.
Getting there is very simple, from State Highway 93, take Golden Gate Canyon Road west approximately 1.5 miles to the parking area and trailhead.
Round trip from the parking lot and around the Mount Galbraith Trail Loop it is about 5.8 miles, I veered off the loop trail to reach the summit, you will see numerous trails off the loop trail that make their way to the summit.
I have only live in CO for a few weeks now and by any standards 7,247 is not that much in total elevation, but I was pretty tired after reaching the summit from the loop trail. From the top there are great views of the surrounding mountains as well as Denver to the East.
The hike itself while on the trail is extremely easy and the trail well groomed and easy to follow. If you are lucky you will see some wildlife, which I was fortunate enough to see some deer (see in the photos) Be on the lookout for wildflowers and other sorts of wildlife.
I hiked this trail after work and started at about 4:30pm and reached the top in about an hour. There were others hiking as well as running the trail, although it was not over populated. This trail is dog friendly and a hikers only trail. Making my way down was simple and took me about half the time it took me to get to the top.
This is a great hike if you are looking for some exercise and a great view after a work day, or if you and your family are looking for a good hike over the weekend for the whole family.
In addition to a great all around hike, there is a very nice parking lot that is not that busy during the week and a restroom facility adjacent to the parking lot.
I hope you all enjoy this spot as much as I did!

Hike Mount Galbraith Reviews
I hike/run here about every other week. It's never too crowded and a short drive from Denver. It's a nice distance as well.
