Relax at Playa Conchal, Costa Rica

Concha is the Spanish word for "shell" and as the name states, you will find the whole beach is made up of tiny sea shells.

To get to this beach you will have to start at Playa Brasilito and make your way to Hotel Brasilito. When you arrive at the hotel you will continue down the road "Brasilito Beach Front". The road gets a little tight and you must cross a small creek but once you are on the beach itself you will have plenty of room. 

*From Playa Brasilito, you can drive a vehicle or just as easily go on foot to Playa Conchal.

If traveling by vehicle, before arriving at Playa Conchal you will cross a small stream and ascend a small hill where a local attendant will inform you weather or not it is safe to pass. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended but not necessary. Once you are over the hill you will be in Playa Conchal and there will be a place to park your vehicle. 

The beach is a few feet from the parking area and you are free to choose your spot on the beach. As more and more tourists are discovering this little oasis, locals are taking advantage and selling food and drinks close by, but during a week day you might see that activity is limited and you can have parts of the beach all to yourself.

• To park your vehicle you might have to pay a small fee (~$2).
• Also remember to watch your valuables, if no one is in charge of watching valuables, it might be smart to leave things in the car.
