Trying to spend as much time in a tent and on the trail as humanly possible

This hike was really hard! GPS data is not super reliable my watch clocked it at 19.25 miles and AllTrails said 22 miles. You need to stage a car or sign up for a shuttle. Starting early is the way to go- we took the 4 am shuttle and were on trail by 5ish. Pack light- poles were a nuisance with all the bouldering I wish I hadn’t packed mine. Ample water sources past Asgard. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR CARINS- it’s so beautiful you will get distracted but there are so many goat paths to accidentally take. All in all took me about 12 hours start to finish

You can also grab a tent site- you will need to hike in ~.25 miles from your car. They provide wheel-barrels and food storage lockers. Be aware of feisty raccoons. I was actively cooking and a raccoon snuck up under picnic table and stole a bag of chips! Boldest raccoon I ever encountered

LOVED this hike! Many of the hikes in glacier have a lot of elevation but not this one! It makes for a very enjoyable day hike, not too crowded during peak season (much of the crowd hike Grinell glacier or iceberg lake in this part of the park). Lake is STUNNING with a beautiful milky blue color. Trail is frequented by horseback riders so watch out for horse poop especially in the first few miles.

Followed the white arrow trail- even though it is considered the easiest way up the mountain there is still a decent amount of elevation gain with scrambling necessary. Parts of the hike were wet and required scrambling so make sure your shoes have good treads. Hiking poles can be helpful for the elevation. Beautiful views at the top! Pack an extra layer and a snack for the top!

Loved this hike so much! A lot of elevation gain- not for the faint of heart be ready to scramble! Once you reach the ridge line you get endless views of the white mountains. Absolutely stunning! We also did the off shoot to shining rock which added about .2 miles and a few hundred feet of elevation but it was also worth it! Get to the trial head early for a parking spot and pack layers for the ridge line. Lots of wind and be prepared for changing conditions. Highly recommend

this hike is stunning! With wildflowers, waterfalls, wild life (mountain goats!), and the option to add on the garden wall and view Grinell Glacier this hike had it all. Very popular so get to Logan pass parking lot early especially during peak season on a weekend. We got there right at 7:30 and snagged one of the last spots. This is a must do hike at GNP as others have mentioned

This hike is very difficult the switch backs are very steep but I promise it’s worth it! The first few switch backs after you get off the main trail and onto the mt brown trail are the worst- it does get better. As you climb higher and higher the views of lake McDonald just keep getting better. We hung out on the lookout for while just resting , having lunch, and soaking in the views. Highly recommend but you will likely be sore the next day. I found my hiking poles really useful

Loved this hike! We completed it as a day hike and went past the campsites up towards gunsight pass. Highly recommend as you get amazing views of the lake below. Many mountain goats sharing the trail once you get to the lake! Very very buggy around the lake in July- highly recommend bug spray. Also the option to hike to Jackson Glacier once you pass the lake it will add a few more miles on your round trip

You can do the trail as a strenuous day hike by taking a hikers shuttle (we used Tamarack) for 20$.They drop you off at Cameron lake and you hike back to your parked car in the town of Waterton. Very beautiful hike with a lot of changing scenery throughout. A lot of the trail is through burn scars and on a ridge line so I recommend taking the 7:30am shuttle if hiking in the summer and packing lots of sunscreen and water. Ample water sources to filter from throughout the hike. Such a stunning trail- the red rocks are very dramatic as are the views from the ridge lines. Highly recommend to get away from the crowd in Waterton

Really rewarding hike with a lot of changes in scenery. Very buggy throughout majority of hike in July - bring bug spray! Biting flies were vicious. Saw two grizzlies while on the trail from a safe distance

We did the loop and it was incredible! Hiking so close to the glaciers was out of this world! Not many people on the trail- great way to get away from the crowds! Got to the trail head early and practically had the place to ourselves. Well worth it!

This place exceeded my expectations by a landslide. I found this trip looking on Outbound collective and immediately started planning my July 4 long weekend backpacking trip. I was so sad to hear that the road conditions to coffeen park trail head were not suitable for our Honda CRV. We found another route starting at pint rock lake trailhead which had an improved road system (still over an hour of dirt roads and switchbacks but the CRV easily made it on this road). We took trail 059 to teepee pole flats making a left a the junction to get on 038 (solitude trail) we continued on until robin lake for ~ 10 miles day 1 and camped at robin lake. The next morning we headed south back on solitude until it meets with 060 cliff lake loop trail. We completed the cliff lake loop and the trail met back up with the solitude trail until it met back up with 059 and camped in a meadow about 2 miles from the original trail head for about 11 miles day 2. Roughly all in all the trip was about 23 miles with numerous swift and high river crossings we stayed in our Tevas for about 2 miles straight due to all the crossings it was easier than constantly changing shoes. As the trail hints this place is amazing for finding solitude in the wilderness. We only passed 10 people total over the holiday weekend. Saw many moose and all the lakes were beautiful. Highly reccomend
