Chain of Lakes Trail in Blackwater River State Park is a relatively easy 1.4-mile loop trail that takes less than a half hour to hike around. The trail starts just southeast of the Deaton Bridge at the trailhead in the parking lot. There may be birders or people fishing along the trail, but if you come early, you may be able to find some solitude.

Blackwater River State Park is open from 8 am until sundown 365 days a year.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome on the trail on a leash.

Parking
There is a parking lot at the trailhead with a nominal parking fee.

Day Use Area
The day-use area at the parking lot is equipped with pavilions, grills, restrooms, and access to a sandy beach. If you're looking to rent equipment to get on the water, there is a canoe/kayak/tube rental site just outside of the park.
