A night atop Cloudland Canyon's West Rim means much more than a stay in the woods. Catch gorgeous sunrises and sunsets over the canyon walls and spend ample time exploring some of Northern Georgia's most beautiful waterfalls.

If you're looking to camp somewhere with exceptional hiking and beautiful waterfalls, Southeastern Tennessee locals know not to look further than Lookout Mountain. Located on the western edge, Cloudland Canyon State Park straddles Sitton Gulch Creek and is perfect for a weekend exploration.

If staying a night or two, your accommodation options are (almost) endless. From cottages and yurts to RV sites and backcountry campsites, Cloudland Canyon has a camping scene fit just for you. If you're looking for a little remoteness, starry nights, and the traditional camping experience, the 30 walk-in campsites at the west rim are perfect. All scattered along a one-mile loop trail, the sites are each equipped with a leveled tent pad, picnic table, and stone fire ring with clean bathrooms and fresh water within a stone's throw. Head to Cloudland Canyon's website for more details and to make a reservation.

Hikers have fallen in love with this place for it's rim trail and the accessibility of the waterfalls via the 2-mile (including plenty of stairs) Waterfalls Trail. Beyond this, take the time to explore the 4.8 mile West Rim Loop, flooded with sweeping views of the gulch. If you're looking to backpack a bit, the more recent Cloudland Connector Trail leads from Cloudland Canyon State Park to Lula Lake in 14 miles. Beyond hiking, mountain biking, fishing, disc golf, and photography are among the common activities here.

Camp at Cloudland Canyon State Park Reviews

Definitely worth checking out

This is Georgia showing off a few of her many charms: meandering falls, heart pumping trails, and sunset over a canyon. Wear proper footwear and go during summer to see the ferns and greenery on full display - this is also when the water looks bluest. There are many trails to choose from, although the ones leading to the falls are most popular, all are worth traversing. Some trails begin near campsites and yurt village.

So glad I found this spot to camp in. Definitely will be my buddy and I's spot when we make our trip up to North Georgia/Tennessee trip. Can't wait.

Great place to either camp or just check out the scenery
