Find your escape in the beautiful Northern Georgia mountains and discover the outdoors experience that Vogel State Park has to offer. With beautiful views, tons of recreation, and great facilities, bring all of your friends and family and enjoy one of the best campgrounds in the state.

Nestled at the foot of Blood Mountain is one of Georgia's most scenic State Parks.  With over 90 campsites and 35 charming cottages, 17 miles of hiking trails, a beautiful alpine lake, and a charming waterfall, Vogel State Park highlights all of the best things that North Georgia has to offer.

The 90 campsites are split between RV/camper sites and walk-in tent sites.  Some can be used for either form of accommodation.  Each camp site offers a picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, and a post to hang trash bags.  The bathroom facilities have cozy space heaters and warm showers.

Thanks in part to the surrounding Chattahoochee National Forest, over 17 miles of hiking trails (some hikes share sections of trail) begin right next to the park's visitors center.  These trails include the 13 mile Coosa Backcountry Trail, 5.5 mile Bear Hair Gap Trail, 1 mile Trahlyta Lake Trail, and the 0.8 mile Byron Herbert Reece Nature Trail.

Lake Trahlyta provides some great recreational opportunities for campers as well.  In the warmer summer months, park visitors can enjoy swimming in the cool lake water and rent out paddle boats.  The lake is also open to kayaks and canoes year-round (rentals are seasonal).  Many people take their paddle vessels out on the water to fish from, although you can enjoy fine fishing from the banks of the lake as well.  On the North end of the lake, you can also find the cascading Trahlyta Falls.

On the recreational side, Vogel State Park has a playground, a small softball field, and a handicap accessible mini-golf course.  With a plethora of opportunities to make for an epic camping experience, finding an excuse to not come camping just got a bit harder.

The visitors center sells just about all of your camping needs, from firewood, ice, food, and souvenirs.

Camp at Vogel State Park Reviews

Park is definitely family-oriented. Very very well-maintained. Campsites are a good size and not too close together, unless you want to be creekside (those are a bit closer together). Extremely clean facilities. Recommended!

This is a great place to spend the night or just spend 20 minutes. Whether you are driving through or spending the night you will enjoy your view.

amazingly outstanding! this place made me feel happy and peaceful. 🌊
