Bell Mountain

Bell Mountain is an awesome place to experience for everyone of all abilities. Whether you're bringing a picnic lunch or looking to grab an awesome sunset, this is the place to be. Bell Mountain is located only 10-minutes (3.2 miles) right past the downtown area of Hiawassee, GA. Take US-76 E out of town, continue for 1.4 miles, turn left onto Shake Rag Rd for 2.2 miles and follow the road all the way to the top of the mountain. The road becomes narrow and steep at certain parts so make sure your car can handle it, along with being aware of the weather conditions. Once you peak the mountain, there are two different parking lots available to park in (one lower down and one at the very top near the lookout - there is a gate leading to the top lot that may be locked but the lower lot is only a short walk away from the summit). 

There are several different lookout areas that require little effort to reach. Several viewpoints are up a few flights of stairs but the view can also be seen from the parking lot!
