Visit a unique picturesque fishing village in the island of Milos
Klima is a rather unique fishing village in the island of Milos because of its architecture. It is built in a way that the houses seem to be so close to the sea that the water almost gets in. The specific architecture is called "Syrmata" and the ground floor that is almost in the sea used to house the boats of the fishermen, who lived in the upper floor.
The colorful paintings of the doors and balconies of these two-storey houses create a wonderful playful atmosphere that is superbly photogenic. The best hour for photographs is the sunset because of the orientation of the village.
The village can be accessed by car - only you have to park just outside and walk a few meters before you arrive at the sea front. It is less that 15min drive from Adamas, which is the main port and largest town in the island.
Nowdays, Klima is touristic enough that you can find cafes and restaurants while some of the Syrmata, have been converted to rental houses and if you choose you may stay there.
