Escape the city and take a ride on Dragon's Back

Hiking the Dragon's Back was a beautiful experience. Once you get above the bush line, your view goes on for miles. Be in awe of the curving hills and distant skyscrapers with views of the surrounding ocean.

This trail is probably one of the most popular hikes in Hong Kong and relatively easy. Just a couple of spots in the beginning and middle that are steep! Dragon's Back is extremely well maintained and the trail is easy to follow.

We started at the main trailhead and went North towards the Tai Tam Gap exist to catch the bus. You could also, keep hiking and take a right to Big Wave Bay for another hour!

Public transportation is paid by the distance and it is highly recommended to get an Octopus Card

Directions:

  • On the MTR take the blue line towards Chai Wan and get off at Shau Kei Wan Station and take exit A2 out.
  • Walk to Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus and catch bus number 9 to Shek O. The bus will drop you off at the trailhead.
    • Stop is called To Tei Wan or you can get off at the other end the trail and catch the bus at the other end.
