Outbound Reviewed: Kicker Bullfrog BF100 Bluetooth Speaker

Durable, waterproof, and epic sound for your outdoor adventures— the Kicker Bullfrog BF100 is a must-pack!

Real talk— I have tried more than a few outdoor-ready Bluetooth speakers. So I was not sure what to expect when I packed the Kicker Bullfrog BF100 Bluetooth Speaker for a 2-week trip down the Alsek River, which flows from the Yukon to Southeastern Alaska. After riding rapids, camping out on silt sand beaches, and hiking to glacial vistas, the Kicker Bullfrog really hit the mark when it comes to holding its own in rugged terrain!

The first thing I noticed about the Bullfrog BF100 is how durable it feels. Its rubberized corners and wider base make it able to withstand bumps, scrapes, and wind— all of which we had plenty of on our trip. The top handle feels solid and I would put my confidence in hanging it from a carabiner without any issues.

When it comes to sound quality, the Bullfrog BF100 is pretty unmatched. The speaker is a little heavier than other portable Bluetooth speakers I have had in the past (1.81 lbs), but only because it comes with 4 speakers inside for total surround sound from anywhere. You can also sync two Bullfrog speakers together for some extra oomph.

Lastly— and perhaps the most important when it came to my trip on the water— is how waterproof I found the Bullfrog BF100 to be. We took it out at multiple campsites and not once did I worry about splashes, rain, or dropping it into shallow water because I knew it would be able to handle a little H2O. It’s this feature that put my mind at ease most and made it completely worthwhile to have a speaker with me on this or any trip.
