Known as the "Niagara of the West," Shoshone Falls' double tiered waterfall is 45 feet taller than it's eastern counterpart.

From Highway 93 in Twin Falls turn east onto Falls Avenue. After two miles turn left onto Champlin Road and continue to the entrance of Shoshone Falls Park.

Enjoy a view of the waterfalls from one of the many lookout decks. For a longer adventure, hop on the paved Centennial Trail and walk, run, or bike 1.4 miles to the site of Evel Knievel's unsuccessful 1974 jump across the canyon on a rocket powered motorcycle.

Shoshone Falls is dam controlled and runs highest during spring. Current water flow can be seen via a live webcam provided by the City of Twin Falls.

After your waterfall adventure head to Elevation 486 for the best happy hour menu in town and outdoor tables along the canyon rim.

Shoshone Falls Reviews

For a nice adventure rent a canoe or kayak and paddle to the base of the falls. (They rent them at the put in) The trip starts at centennial park and the river is lake like. You paddle up stream and back. The trip is amazing as you go through the lava rock canyon. One word of caution. You must pass through pillar falls, in medium to low flows it's no big deal as you just walk your boat around the shore, in high flows the pass will be blocked with high impassable falls. Once you get to Shshone Falls enjoy the amazing view, but obviously stay back a safe distance. Recommend doing this in the mornings to avoid paddling against the up canyon winds. Bring your water proof camera and enjoy!

Shoshone falls are massive and beautiful. There are many lookout decks that allow great views and photo opportunities. Worth the visit!

Great spot for selfies and landscape photography. Small fee is required to park so bring a couple bucks in cash.

If you start from Shoshone Falls, be prepared for some very steep hills up to the more flat trail. Also, canyon rim trail is the trail so don’t get confused.

This place is so easy to access with incredible views and nice picnic areas around. We explored some of the little trails branching off from the main parking lot and found some unique views!

I'm not sure how often it occurs, but when going to see it the falls were completely dry. I'm guessing it had something to do with the dam. However, the area is still incredibly beautiful.
