"The Jewel of the Shawnee National Forest"

Hike, swim, paddle, fish, bike, or picnic is a amazing medium size lake in the heart of the Shawnee. Surrounded by trees, bluffs, creeks, and trails in all directions paired with its central location many attractions in Southern Illinois, Lake Glendale is a great spot to spend a day or a week.

From Memorial Day thru August, the beach area is open seven days a week. The beach also has a concession area should you choose not to bring your lunch. Also there are several picnic tables on site.

Boats are also available for rent. Jon boats, paddle Boats, kayaks, and canoes are all here for you if you don't have or forgot one at home.

Want to hike? There is a 2.1 mile loop trail around the lakes shores and it is especially beautiful in the fall.

For fishing on this 80 acre lake, trolling motors or paddles only. Fishing is usually good here with bass, crappie, and bluegill being the main species caught. You must have a fishing license to partake.
