Run Galesburg's famous Lake Storey Trail and relieve some stress. Enjoy the breeze and fresh air while you run over some of the most beautiful areas of Galesburg.

Just north of Galesburg on route 150 turn right onto Lake Storey road, follow it down until you turn right on W Lake Storey Road. The trailhead starts right on the corner of South Lake Storey & West Lake Storey Road. There you will be able to pull off to the side of the road to park your vehicle. Be sure to lock it and take (or hide) any valuables in it. If there is no spot for you to park, you can drive down West Lake Storey road and make the first right onto Red Oak Ln. This right turn is where most people park their vehicles but keep in mind this is also a destination for people to put their boats in the water.

If you decide to park on Red Oak Ln you will see a paved trail to the left as you pull in over looking the lake. Starting your run and enjoying the beautiful views of the lake you will come up on the bridge over the 'Galesburg Dam'. After crossing this bridge make sure to keep on the trail because you don't want to trespass over to the Galesburg Police Department shooting range. The trail will take you alongside the road. This trail is paved for the majority, but does have some optional 'through the trees' paths. During your run you will find that you will go across a couple bridges & winding turns that will keep your exercise interesting. You will also pass the Lake Storey pavilion that has a little beach font where you can cool off after.
