Climb Monte Garzon and Ring the Bell

Start your adventure by parking along the road or by the church. Head north up what initially looks like a driveway, though you'll want to stay to the right and follow the path. From there keep following the path straight, and when in doubt follow the red/white blazes or the signs for the cross (croce). The path is fairly wide, and you may have to share it with bikers at times since this is just a small section of a much larger hiking/biking path. The way is ever ascending and can be quite steep at times, but the view at the top is spectacular and worth it. You know you're there when you see a massive cross and a bell. It only takes a small ring to send the sound resounding across the countryside!

This monument was created as a memorial to when the locals fought hard and succeeded at saving the mountain from a mining company. The company intended to strip mine it down and use the rock and dirt to create an extra lane for a nearby highway (the A4), but they encountered too much resistance along the way and had to back down.

There is a local hunting company so be sure to do your research and follow all local safety guidelines! Also, when you're done your trek, swing by the restaurant at the Sporting Hotel San Felice, they've got incredible food!
