An exhilarating trail that will offer you superb views of the Monte Rosa and its wild nature.
This is an enjoyable hike that will lead you to a beautiful arena where your can admire the south side of the Monte Rosa.
After parking at Wold, after the village of Alagna Valsesia, just follow the road to the Acqua Bianca falls. Here you can find the trail (7a) that leads to Turlo pass and, once arrived near Alpe Mittlentheil, turn left on the path 7d. After a steep but short trail you'll end up at the Alpe Testanera.
From this magnificent panoramic balcony you can admire the Monte Rosa in all its majesty, from the Grober peak that through the Signal ridge leads to the Gnifetti summit (on top of which stands the highest refuge in Europe, the Capanna Margherita 4.554m) to the Parrot peak, the Pyramid Vincent, the Corno d'Olen and the Corno Bianco.
Then you can carry on following well marked traces toward the Barba-Ferrero refuge and from there return to the valley through a beautiful forest of larch (5 hours to complete the loop).
