I've done this hike several times and am thrilled that someone with average fitness can do it. The first time I went with my husband, I was in total AWE of this gorgeous HUGE mountain. Until you stand this close (on it!) you have no idea how massively wonderful it is. I need to schedule another trip...

This is very cool! We did the easier cave; next time I'll do the more adventurous one.

Rialto is such a special beach. Lots to explore.

Be sure to walk the trail out to the cliff. Look down at the road you came in on. :o)

This is worth doing!

Hwy 20 is an amazing motorcycle ride. We rode down to the dam and parked right on top. Gorgeous, as is Liberty Bell, too!

One of my all-time favorite beaches in the world.

It's definitely worth stopping at each waterfall along this road (there are a number of them!). They are all unique with their own special beauty.

I rode these waves when I was 15. It really was an epic experience! I can hardly believe my mom let me do it, since the waves were pretty rough. I was slammed into the bottom more than once (but loved it!) and I was literally picking sand out of my hair for several days (after several showers).

This day was beyond fabulous! Gorgeous views on this trail through the "jungle", with streams, beach, and waterfall. I did this with my 22 year-old son when I was 53. I had not been exercising much, but am fairly active and not overweight. I did not find this too difficult. Crossing one rushing stream was tricky. It was an amazing hike. Good shoes are super important and lots of water of course. Beware: Trail was muddy with puddles in places even on a relatively dry week. A recent rain will make it treacherous in places. One of the best adventures of my life!

I love that stump! When do we move in?
