7 Reasons Why This Is the Most Ridiculous Picture I Have Ever Taken

Taking what is already ridiculous to the next level.

By: John Entwistle + Save to a List

  1. In 2016, I hiked to Brandywine Falls, and claimed it was one of the "Highest Effort Pictures" of 2016... This time, I decided to do it in the dark, after significant snowfall.
  2. I did this on a work night, after work. Proving to myself that there is never "not enough time" to get outside.
  3. Temperatures at this time were -1 degree celsius with a heavy waterfall mist. AKA, it was cold. Freezing cold.
  4. This is a 30 second exposure. Meaning I had to stand still near the rushing water and ice for 30 seconds to make sure that it wasn't blurry.
  5. Everything was covered in ice. It is amazing that I didn't fall on my face even once...
  6. I thought I could get away with my down jacket and merino wool gloves as it had been cold and clear all day. As it turns out, there is a lot of moisture when you are standing beside a giant waterfall, and this was not sufficient. By the end of my trip, I was completely soaked through.
  7. This picture is a selfie. This is me holding the flashlight, and I set up my camera on a tripod further down the river and used the wifi on my Canon 6d to take the shot.
