Upper and Lower Kentucky Creek Falls, plus Smith River Falls

Three Falls For the Price of One In the Oregon Coast Range.

By: Josh Latham + Save to a List

Your journey begins at a small parking area along National Forest Road 2300919. From here you'll park and cross the road to the trailhead. Upper Kentucky Falls is a short 0.8 mile hike along a well maintained forest trail that winds through old growth Douglas Fir. It's not bad, but you'll have to cross some large boulders to reach the base of the falls. From here, continue along the trail for approximately 1.4 miles and you'll find the other two falls at the confluence of Kentucky Creek and Smith River. You can see both falls where the two meet. From here you can make your way back, or if you're more adventurous continue on to the North Fork Smith River Trail.
