I grew up on Denman Island BC, Canada and now I am currently based in Yellowknife. I love hiking, photography and road trips. I'm also a huge waterfall junkie.

Finally got to check out this beautiful provincial park today (aug 8th 2016) and man is it beautiful. The big two tiered waterfall is stunning. I will have to go back again to hiking further downstream as noted in this write up. Can't wait!

Excellent swimming hole. Excellent relaxing spot. Excellent place for all kinds of waterfall shots.

The hike to the lake sucks. No doubt about it. All of it up a mountain and most of the elevation gain is in the last 2.5 km or so. Being tons of water or a filtering device. The trail is really well maintained but some parts of it are muddy and slippery. I highly recommend really good hiking boots and trekking poles if you have them. Once up at the lake you see how colourful it actually is. Like aquamarine kool aid. The gate to access the forest road to get to the trail head is only open on weekends during the summer fork. Friday at 6pm to Sunday at 8pm. If you expect to be the only ones out there you won't be. It's surprisingly very popular.

This hike is an easy 1km ish loop and so worth the quick pit stop.

This place is amazing and spectacular. Went with friends early this morning and it was worth the long day and early wake up call. Beautiful waterfall. Beautiful lake. Beautiful area. And an awesome place to take all kinds of sweet photos.

This bridge is pretty neat with lots of history to go with it. Originally built in the 1800s then dismantled and then a new one out in the early 1900s it has been there for a while. The hike is all down hill to it and then to get back it is uphill. I'd say a total walking distance of 2km. Check out the Alexandra bridge provincial park site for more details on the history.

If you are a beginner or advanced hiker you can do this hike. If you are a beginner I would recommend planning on around 5 hours round trip including stopping and lunch. Take 2-3 litres of water because it isn't readily available. The area is so beautiful and worth it though!! You won't regret the hike! I loved it even though my legs are starting to get pretty sore a day and a bit later! haha

If you are in the McBride area this is a place you should at least stop at once because it is pretty cool. The shale rock formations the pretty green forest you walk through and the thunderous short waterfall make it worth the easy 2km walk... but seriously... wear tons of bug spray!

This place is like a fairy tale once you get to the top of the short and steep hill. Walking into the whole forest floor covered in moss is something I don't think I have seen and it is amazing! worth while and pretty easy to find with the directions.

This waterfall "mecca" is awesome. Three beautiful and different waterfalls in such a close space... it's not something you see every day that is for sure! If you are driving on highway 16, heading east towards alberta or west towards prince george this is a worth while detour.

I went here on a high school field trip with my geology class and it was epic. It was the first time I had ever been in any caves. Well worth it.

This forest will soon be protected and turned into a BC Provincial Park which is awesome. But the coolest part about it is that its an inland temperate rainforest and the only known one in the world. Such a cool half day adventure.

This hike is really pretty and peaceful and great for just starting out with hiking. Bonus is... if you want to do more hiking there is more available in this park!

This place is a beautiful spot to photograph or just hang out for a morning or afternoon and relax. Well worth the short drive off of the highway.

Beautiful waterfall! And an easy hike to get to !

It is not an easy hike unless you are a mountain goat then it might be. But the payoff is sooooo worth it. The views are absolutely stunning.

This mountain is a beautiful place to spend a day or two days at or more. The views the powder the chill atmosphere make it all worth while.

It costs around $30 for one person to go up the sky tram but in my opinion it is definitely worth it. My sister and I went up there in September of 2015 and it was such a beautiful day. Could see as far as the mountains let you. Beautiful views of Jasper, Athabasca River, Pyramid Mountain and many others. You can also hike while you are up there to the very peak of Whistlers mountain. Check out and photograph some mountain goats too!

Beautiful waterfalls, great exercise, beautiful trees... a must see!

Whether you are running here or just taking a nice walk on the beach its a beautiful place for a sunset or to run up the stairs. If you are visiting the valley this is a must see and do.

This drive is AMAZING on a sunny and clear day in the summer or in the winter. The mountains the lakes the views are just spectacular.

I love this waterfall and where it is located. 100 percent recommend it to anyone needing a quick break while driving past.

This is my favourite place on Denman to hike. I grew up on this island and lived there for 19 years. The views and the eagles and other wildlife viewing are stunning.

A great place to go for an afternoon walk or to camp near a beach on Denman Island. There is some pretty cool history at this park.
