Hike to a fire tower with 360 degree views.
The trial-head for this hike had a very small parking area but there is some extra parking on down the road where you can park then walk to the start. The trail starts relatively flat with a small incline. As you go on it climbs slowly until you reach the steps that start the accent. There are about 50 steps to the top of the incline from there it is about a tenth of a mile up from there. When you get to the tower you can climb up the stairs to the top. In the winter and some of the fall the tower is closed and you can only go to the top of the stairs. Even though you can not get in the top sometimes the views are just as good from the stairs.

Pinnacle Knob Fire Tower Reviews
Great website full of adventure ideas! I would just check with local parks to make sure trails are open before going.

My wife and I briefly visited here during a road trip from Ohio to Georgia. We did not expect the top of the tower to be open, but when we arrived we saw a sign that said it was until 11am that day. The time was 10:56am, and we decided to make a run for it. Definitely a difficult and strenuous trail to run, but we arrived quickly and they let us up despite being late. The tourguide was informative and pointed out some landmarks for us. It was an incredible view up there, and our stomachs were churning as we looked straight down to the ground far below. I'm afraid of heights, but I do things like this because it is extra exhilarating due to the fear. I highly recommend climbing the tower!

It’s been a few years since I’ve been there but the view from the tower is unforgettable!
